April

Hey May! We all agree this is the month when summer starts, right? I know it technically doesn’t start until June, but to me, Memorial Day signals the start of summer and I am just so excited for all kinds of summer fun!

April was all about that green. The farmer’s market opened, I got my garden in and tons (and tons) of yardwork was done. I feel like we packed in a great balance of fun and relaxation combined with necessary tasks and had a great month!

Here’s what April found me…

currently april

Designing:::  A rain garden! We recently expanded our rain barrel collection from 1 barrel to 3 barrels. While the one clear barrel blended in fairly well with the side of the house, two more bright blue barrels really stick out. So I’m painting all the barrels and also putting in some native Kansas plants that don’t require a lot of water around the barrels. I’m really excited to show you how it all comes out!

Enjoying::: Having my husband home from military training. Its so nice to get back in to somewhat normalcy.

Ordering::: Pretty much nothing. We had a big garage sale last weekend and I’m am so over clutter. I realize we have too much stuff and am trying to be really careful that what I bring in to the house is truly a need.

Celebrating::: Getting the rest of the garden put in! I’m perpetually late with this one, so it feels good to have everything in the ground pretty much on time this year. I went above and beyond my garden plan for this year and I’ll be sharing the finished product with you soon.

Tasting::: Wine! Our wine supply has dwindled critically low, so we’ve been doing lots of tastings and restocking our supply. We’re all about Cooper’s Hawk wines these days.

Blogging::: In April, I talked about my first 4 mile race and created a yummy clean peanut butter chocolate chip blondie.

What have you been celebrating, tasting and ordering lately??

I’ve been getting rid of things left and right, too and it feels so good! Pete and I went to Cooper’s Hawk for the first time last month and it was delicious. 🙂

We’ve been making it there at least once a month, at least to do a wine tasting, we’re pretty much obsessed!

Sounds like April was a great month! I can’t wait to see all the delicious things you grow in your garden! That is awesome you’re getting rid of clutter. We’re in the process of decluttering, too. We just have WAY too much stuff. It will be nice to get everything organized. Hope you’re having a great day!

Yay for getting back into the domestic routine with your hubby – so nice to appreciate the everyday together, isn’t it? My husband tends to work really late but this month has had a much better schedule, so I’m appreciating having him around in the same way. Congrats on your first race, and I’m definitely going to check out this recipe. Just did a Whole30 and am now looking for clean ways to do the occasional treat 🙂
