We recently moved to a new house and the yard needs some work. Rather than rush to get a garden dug and prepped when we really should be focusing on other things, I decided to go with a container garden this year. So far, its working out well. I’ve made it a little over a month with everything surviving and thriving, which is pretty good for me. I’m loving this low maintenance approach to gardening.
I got most of the plants from the Badseed annual organic plant sale.
Let me take you on a little tour of what’s in my “garden”:
Three tomato plants
One bush tomato
One sungold cherry tomato
And one slightly sad, slightly leaning tomato plant of an unknown variety.
The key to growing tomatoes in containers is to make sure you have a very big container for them.
Five pepper plants
There are four bell pepper plants in four different varieties. I didn’t mark which was which, so it will be a fun surprise when they grow.
There’s also one anahiem chili.
I also have a box of kale and another of lettuce.
That’s my garden… Its nice and compact and also mobile and close to the hose. I’m excited to see what results it produces this year!
I also have a tiered herb garden that I’ll be sharing with you soon.
