BADSEED

I’ve been dying to go to the farmer’s market ever since Spring hit, but since I work nights, I’m usually passed out by the time they open on Saturday mornings. I was trolling the internet for local farmer’s markets and found BADSEED Farm and Market, an indoor market that is open on Friday nights. I checked out their website and instantly fell in love.

Tonight we went to check it out and now I’m even more in love.

The place was festive, the people helpful and the food gorgeous.

There were organic veggies, baked goods, meats, eggs, cheeses and natural personal care products. I wanted to buy all the things!

How gorgeous was the lettuce I picked up?

And this rainbow chard?

We also picked up some grass-fed beef at a great price and some natural body products.

I know, I know…. I’ve pretty much gone full-on hippie with the natural toothpaste, but its something the husband has been wanting to try for a while, so I figured we’d take the plunge.

The icing on the cake was the food offered there. This week was a sandwich made out of a sweet potato biscuit with Kansas Citian bacon, Alpine Prairie cheese, arugula and herb mayo.

Best. Thing. Ever. Seriously. I would have never thought to try a sweet potato biscuit for a sandwich, but it was so good. The husband told me he’d get married again if the chef could cater the wedding… Hopefully he meant to me 😉

It was such a lovely place. I’m always thrilled to discover places that have a respect and appreciation for local, organic food. Every time I’m in a place like that I get so inspired. I just want to soak up all the information and knowledge available.

Are you hitting the farmer’s markets this weekend? What’s your favorite thing to buy at the market?
